Nancy McCaleb
Nancy has been working on and off again in the horse world since she was 19. She grew up on the east coast and had the opportunity to work with many different professionals in her area. Her varied background includes hunter/jumper, dressage, eventing, Pony Club and 4H. She is a graduate H-A pony clubber.
For the past 31 years in addition to doing "horse stuff" Nancy has taught elementary school. She feels this has made her even better at helping kids on horseback. She is able to teach with clarity and for deep understanding of the "whys" of riding. Her incredible patience and positive attitude make her lessons fun and interesting.
The current Living Well Farm is the second for Nancy. Previously she managed a barn in Kodiak, Alaska where she ran an active lesson program. Before that she worked for several other facilities. The current LWF started in 2005 when Nancy had the opportunity to lease the property where she is now located.
Nancy continues to teach school and do lessons at the barn after school and on the weekends that she is not away at shows or with her son, Garth, at rodeos. She still manages to ride her horse occasionally and get on a few client's horses.
Ian McCaleb
Ian, Nancy's husband, has recently become the full time barn help and go to guy at the barn.
He has learned. the "ropes" for his job during the last 31 years of marriage to Nancy. He gets
roped into lots of projects and trips but always keeps helping when needed.
